About the artist

My name is Fei. I am a printmaker and painter based in Salt Lake City, Utah. I received my BFA from University of Utah, primarily studying under John Erickson, Justin Diggle, and David Dornan. I continue my art education with many artists I admire.

My work is about the human condition, specifically the range of emotions we experience —tranquility, anger, grief, hope, loneliness, awe, etc. I use still life, landscape, or figures to illustrate these internal states. Some work are direct, some are more ambiguous.

My work is also my attempt to name and identify my inner feelings or understandings. Sometimes they are personal, and sometimes they are universal. Creating art is my process to live a full life, and hopefully my work could resonate and connect with you.
